How to use technology to enhance SEN students’ engagement in science subjects.
As a General Studies teacher and a science teach in future in primary school, I am facing SEN students like ASD students in my classroom setting.
The use of technology including games like Blooklet and Kahoot helped a lots to students engagement. Not only using the games to engage students, but it solved the difficultly for teachers to do formative assessment to see whether the students understand to topics or not.
Now, Generative AI can create app as well. Educators should make good use of this advanced technology to do TPACK. Creating app are not only for computer scientists or ICT teachers but Chinese and English teachers too. Take Canvas AI as an example, teachers should be able to create an app that is suitable for their own students. Or even we could teach the students how to use it, and use it as projects.
That would be a great tool for teachers to engage all students including SEN students who learning motivation may be lower.
